NU Bulldogs, three other college squads battle teams from Down Under in Philippines-Australia Invitational

UAAP Season 77 champion National University and three other college squads face two Australian teams in the Philippines-Australia Goodwill Basketball Invitational starting on Tuesday at the Philsports Arena.

The Bulldogs will be joined by the Ateneo Blue Eagles, NCAA Season 90 runner-up Arellano and San Sebastian in the tournament that runs until Saturday.

The four local college teams battle a Fil-Australian and Australian team from Perth and Sydney as part of their preparations for their mother leagues.

The Bulldogs face the Stags in the opening match at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, the Blue Eagles take on Perth at 4 p.m., and the Chiefs square off with Sydney at 6 p.m.

The top team after the single round robin tournament wins the title. Games will also be played at The Arena in San Juan.

The organizing Sports Vision Management Group said this week’s tournament will be the start of many editions of the invitational and it is also planning to hold games in Australia.
