Manny V. Pangilinan announced he will gift the triumphant Ateneo Blue Eagles with an iPhone X as part of incentive for winning the school's first UAAP Season 80 men’s basketball title in five years.

According to a series of tweets by the school’s newspaper The Guidon, Pangilinan made the announcement during the celebration at the university grounds after the Blue Eagles beat La Salle in do-or-die Game Three, 88-86, on Sunday.

Aside from the new mobile phones, the team's longtime patron said he will be treating the team to a Hong Kong trip.

In his speech, Pangilinan expressed how special the team was in his eyes.

“This is a team that’s quite special to me. I’ve been exposed to a lot of basketball in my life, and this team has been special to me since my first game,” said Pangilinan, according to a tweet by The Guidon.
