MATTHEW Aquino is seeing action for National University after the shool secured a court order ahead of the Sunday match against La Salle in the UAAP Season 79 basketball tournament, a source told

According to the source, NU has been granted a temporary restraining order (TRO) from a Pasig City court on the UAAP ruling that kept Aquino out of the Bulldogs’ first two games this season.

The UAAP board earlier ruled the 6-9 Aquino ineligible to play for the Bulldogs this season after his transfer from Adamson. Although the league never issued an official statement on the matter, sources said the league ruled that the son of former PBA star Marlou broke rules on his NU residency when he trained for weeks in the US.

A UAAP official said they were informed about a TRO being obtained by NU, but added the paper has yet to reach the league office.

Pressed for comment, NU officials declined to confirm or deny the story.
