MATT Nieto and his ‘No Shave November’ are working wonders for Ateneo.

The in-form Ateneo guard is letting his beard grow as some sort of a lucky charm and it seems to be working as the Blue Eagles inched closer to a sweep of the UAAP Season 80 eliminations.

“Hindi ko alam kung ise-save ko ‘to pero dapat, No Shave November, tapos wala pang talo,” said Nieto. “Sinasabi ko lang, 'No Shave November' kasi maraming nagtatanong.”

Nieto said he is still unsure on whether to keep the new look or not as there are a few who said it doesn’t look good on him.

“Depende kung ise-shave ko pa kasi pangit daw tingnan,” said Nieto. "Iniisip ko baka suwerte."

Nieto definitely looked good on Wednesday against the University of the Philippines Maroons when he finished with 19 points in the Blue Eagles' 96-82 victory - their 13th in a row this season.

Nieto had seven points in the final quarter alone, including a crucial three-pointer.

“The game was pretty tough. You can see that they were really prepared. They really scouted as well. But like I said before, we are always up for the challenge. Good thing we were composed,” said Nieto.
