MARVIN Lee said University of Santo Tomas will use the close defeat against University of the Philippines as a motivation in their next games in the UAAP Season 80 basketball tournament.

Lee scored 20 points including two clutch free throws with five seconds to play in the game to put UST ahead, 73-71, only to see its lead taken away by Paul Desiderio.

Instead of sulking at the loss, Lee said they will try to come back stronger.

"Magandang experience 'yung nangyari," said Lee. "Magiging motiviation na lang ito. Back to practice na lang."

UST also got contributions from rookie Steve Akomo, who finished with 15 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks, and former National University standout Jordan Sta. Ana with 11 points, six assists and two steals.

"Sa amin, good game 'yun. Move on na lang kami," said Lee.

Lee also commended Akomo, who had a double-double despite getting into foul trouble.

"Alam ko, may ilalabas pa siya. Maganda ang linaro niya para sa team," said Lee.
