AFTER ruling the Filoil Flying V Premier Preseason Cup, De La Salle plans to stay busy with tune-up games against PBA teams in the three months leading to Season 79 of the UAAP.

La Salle coach Aldin Ayo said they are looking to arrange tune-up games particularly against teams under the San Miguel Corp. umbrella, namely Ginebra, Star and SMB, through team patron Danding Cojuangco.

“I’ve talked to Boss (Danding Cojuangco) already. Mag-aarrange kami ng tune-up games sa San Miguel teams. Either San Miguel, Star, or Ginebra,” said Ayo, moments after the 86-74 win over Arellano in the finals on Sunday.

Ayo also hopes to have a tune-up game against GlobalPort, hoping to test the Green Archers' trapping defense against the Batang Pier’s flamboyant backcourt of Terrence Romeo and Stanley Pringle.

“I’ve talked to Boss Mikee (Romero) also. Gusto naming maka-experience ng Terrence Romeo and Stanley Pringle sa trap. ‘Yun ang schedule namin two to three months,” said Ayo.

Ayo said he is still not satisfied after the Green Archers' 10-game sweep of the preseason tournament, noting there are still several lapses in the team's game.

“Marami pa rin kaming lapses. We are going to work on that. Ang objective namin, kung mataas ‘yung na-achieve namin, hindi kami masa-satisfied with that. We are going to continue to improve and work hard dahil sa preparation naman ‘to. Our focus is the mother league which is the UAAP,” said Ayo.

Ayo said the team’s preseason campaign is not yet finished as the Green Archers are still in the playoffs of the Milcu Got Skills Summer Showcase.

“Siguro maghahanap pa kami ng mga pocket tournaments,” said Ayo.
