KIEFER Ravena leapt to Kevin Ferrer's defense on Twitter after the University of Santo Tomas star came under fire following his poor play in the deciding game of the UAAP Season 78 finals.

Ravena said fans should give this certain player ‘a break’ following his off-night in Wednesday’s winner take all Game Three won by the Far Eastern University, 67-62, before a crowd of 23,000 screaming fans at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Although the reigning league MVP didn't mention names, Ravena was obviously referring to Ferrer, with whom he earlier 'shared' his second MVP trophy.

“From hero of G2 to Benta of G3. psssssht. Give the guy a break. Brought you to the finals, di pa nakuntento,” wrote Ravena on his Twitter account@kieferravena.

Ferrer finished with only six points in Game Three, four days after he put on a marvelous performance which saw him light up the scoreboard with 29 points including 24 in the third period of the Tigers’ Game Two win.

The victory forged a ‘you-or-me’ showdown with the Tamaraws for the championship.

Here is Ravena's tweet.
