KAI Sotto has passed the entrance examination of Ateneo, bringing the 13-year-old prodigy a step closer to making the Blue Eaglets lineup.

Ateneo head coach Joe Silva said on Wednesday there is a posibility that the 6-foot-9 player will be included in the roster of the Blue Eaglets for the coming Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup.

If the coaching staff decides to do so, Sotto could play for Ateneo as early as this Saturday in its tournament debut against San Beda.

But first, the celebrated son of former PBA cager Ervin Sotto will have to enroll at Ateneo first in order for his entry to the Blue Eaglets' lineup to become official.

"We are still debating on that but most probably, kapag umabot ‘yung jersey niya, maglalaro siya sa Saturday," said Silva.

Silva said Sotto is already familiar with the Blue Eaglets system, having attended practices of the team since taking the entrance examination.

"He has been practicing since he took the entrance test. Nag-stop muna nung Jr. NBA (event)," said Silva.

Sotto, a product of St. Francis of Assisi College, captured the MVP award of the Jr. NBA national training camp supervised by a team that included New Orleans Pelicans guard Norris Cole.

Sotto topped the thousands of participants who went to several training campus including Manila, Baguio, Davao, and Cebu.
