ALL signs point to National University Bullpups star Justine Baltazar joining the De La Salle Green Archers in the UAAP.

A La Salle team insider confirmed Baltazar’s handlers, led by Pampanga vice governor Dennis Pineda, will bring the 6-foot-7 big man to the Green Archers once he passes the entrance exam of the Taft-based school.

“If he passes the exam, mukhang sa La Salle na,” said the source who declined to be identified.

Baltazar brings much-needed height to the Green Archers basketball program — an aspect that was lacking in their Season 78 campaign — once the commitment is official.

The NU Bullpups center, however, said he has not committed to any school team for college, but admitted he will be brought by Pineda to La Salle for a visit.

“Dadalhin daw po ako dun nung nagdala sa akin dito, si Boss Pineda,” Baltazar told reporters before the NBTC All-Star Game on Wednesday.

Baltazar, who averaged 13.4 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks for the Bullpups, said he remains uncertain about going to La Salle.

“Hindi ko pa po alam kung magagamit po ako dun. Pero maganda rin po ‘yung pag-aaral dun,” said the soft-spoken Baltazar, who shared he plans to build up his lean frame in preparation for the physicality of the college game.

Should he commit to La Salle, Baltazar will join his UAAP Juniors finals rival, De La Salle-Zobel's Aljun Melecio, who also decided to stay with the Green Archers following his campaign with the Junior Archers.
