JERON Teng said La Salle has logged one intense practice, determined as they are to avoid coming out flat for Game One of the UAAP Season 79 finals against arch-rival Ateneo.

The fifth-year senior said the last thing the Green Archers want is a repeat of their lackluster performance against Adamson the last time out that saw them barely survive the Final Four game.

“I think after that game, we have been practicing really, really hard. We are practicing harder than ever to prepare for the finals. We are hopeful na babalik ‘yung dati naming laro,” said Teng.

Teng warned Ateneo will make them pay dearly if they play as badly as they did against Adamson in the opener of their best-of-three championship series at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“Super motivated dahil eto na ‘yun. Sa amin, we really have to get it because Ateneo won’t give it to us,” said Teng, who along with the Green Archers imediately plunged into practice after Ateneo beat Far Eastern University to clinch a place in the finals.

That La Salle practice at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum lasted until about 10:30 p.m.

The ultimate goal, Teng said, is to crown his collegiate career with a championship.

“Excited din ako dahil I’m down to my last two to three games. Hirap din mag-practice ng walang kalaban. At least, we know kung sino kalaban namin. Right after the game, we prepared agad for the finals,” said Teng.

“Kailangan mag-champion muna,” said Teng. “It’s my last year. I want to graduate with the championship.”
