GELO Alolino lamented the “sensitive” officiating the National University star felt in the Bulldogs’ 67-63 loss to La Salle on Sunday in UAAP Season 78 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“Kailangan kong mag-adjust sa referees kung ganon talaga ka-sensitive yung tawag,” Alolino said after leading the Bulldogs’ endgame comeback that fell short.

The officiating was a bit strict the senior playmaker was called for a technical foul for the first time in his collegiate career.

“Sobrang na-surprise at dismayado ako sa sarili ko kasi sa fifth year ko pa ako natawagan,” Alolino said.

The 5-foot-11 guard incurred the penalty after complaining over a call that saw the referee award the possession to the Green Archers following a battle for the loose ball early in the third quarter.

Alolino argued a La Salle player touched the ball last as he was near the play, and was immediately called for a technical instead of an initial warning.

And Alolino has no choice but to adapt.

“I guess bagong rule ng mga referee,” he said. “Sabi sa akin kailangan niya daw gawin yun, so wala na, natawag na sa akin.”

“Mabigat, pero matututo mag-adjust.”
