TWO former Adamson players stepped up for Far Eastern University in their match on Sunday in the UAAP, but insisted it wasn't personal.

Axel Inigo had 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field and added four rebounds and four assists while Kimlee Bayquin added nine points as the Tamaraws overcame the Falcons, 75-65.

Both Inigo and Bayquin were former members of the Falcons before transferring to the Tamaraws.

“Hindi naman," said Inigo when asked if he had extra motivation to beat his former team. "Nag-enjoy lang, kasi sinasabi ko na no pressure lang. Laro lang ako.”

“Respeto din sa Adamson. Former school ko ‘yun. Gusto ko rin magpakita ng maganda,” added Inigo, who moved to FEU two years ago.

Bayquin echoed Inigo's words.

“Ginawa ko lang ‘yung role ko. Team player lang ako,” said Bayquin.

FEU coach Nash Racela lauded the efforts of Inigo and Bayquin.

“I actually want to thank Adamson for them. They really helped us today. It has always been a challenge for our players to be ready lang," said Racela, praising the two for delivering quality minutes.

"I always tell them that their moment will come. At least, for the two of them and even for the others, they are stepping forward and performing,” added Racela.

Inigo said he simply wanted to step up with FEU starting point guard Jojo Trinidad in sick bay.

“Wala naman akong ginawang kakaiba. Tinignan ko lang ‘yung situation sa game. Nagdeliver ako,” said Inigo.
