FEU Lady Tamaraws stun La Salle Lady Archers in UAAP women's basketball

FAR Eastern University stunned second-running De La Salle, 66-62, on Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum for only its third win in the UAAP Season 79 women's basketball tournament.

National University routed University of Santo Tomas, 71-49, to extending its unbeaten run to 11 games.

Loraine Ventura had 13 points while Maria Balleser and Princess Jumuad added 10 points apiece as the Lady Tamaraws moved in a tie with the Tigresses for sixth place at 3-7.

The victory also rejuvenated FEU's Final Four bid as it only trails joint fourth placers Adamson University and Ateneo by a full game.

It was only the Lady Archers' second loss of the tournament.

Camille Claro at Kat Nunez had 10 points apiece for 8-2 La Salle.

Reigning MVP Afril Bernardino had 24 points and 14 rebounds, Gemma Miranda chipped in 14 points and 10 boards while Jack Daniel Animam also had a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs.
