FEU hands Ateneo second straight loss in UAAP juniors basketball

FAR Eastern University beat Ateneo, 77-73, on Saturday for its second win in three outings in the UAAP Season 79 juniors basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Kenji Roman had 16 points and nine rebounds, while Louell Gonzales and Jeffrey Sapinit had 13 points each for the Baby Tamaraws, who climbed to a share of second with University of the Philippines Integrated School and National University.

It was the second loss in a row for the Blue Eaglets, who bowed to NU on Tuesday, and now hold a 1-2 win-loss card.

Juan Gomez De Liano had 24 points and 11 rebounds as UPIS defeated University of the East, 95-63, for their second straight win.

Ralph Luis Labao had a near triple-double after contributing 14 points, nine rebounds, and 10 assists for the Junior Maroons.

The reigning champion Bullpups dropped their first game after falling to Adamson, 80-67.

De La Salle-Zobel notched its first win in three games, beating University of Santo Tomas, 64-58.

Astrovale Vista had 19 points, while Joaqui Mariano added 12 points for the Junior Archers, who handed the Tiger Cubs their third straight defeat.
