FEU Baby Tamaraws buck slow start with sizzling second half to turn back UE Junior Warriors

FAR Eastern University-Diliman bucked a slow start to beat University of the East, 91-63, on Wednesday in the UAAP Season 80 juniors basketball at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

L-Jay Gonzales had 21 points, while Bryan Sajonia tallied 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Baby Tamaraws as they upped their mark to 5-4.

FEU, however, had to earn the win as the Baby Tamaraws even trailed, 41-38, at halftime. The reigning champions outscored UE, 53-22, in the second half.

Royce Alforque had 12 points, while Rei Tolentico had 10 points and 15 rebounds for FEU, which now joined University of Santo Tomas in third place following the Tiger Cubs’ defeat against University of the Philippines Integrated School early in the day.

Agem Miranda posted 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Junior Warriors, who are in eighth spot with a 1-8 slate.
