UST forward Embons Bonleon ruled out for rest of Season 79 to have surgery on injured wrist
Embons Bonleon played through pain as he was excited to suit up for UST with a new head coach but will sit out the rest of the season after aggravating the injury on his hand against La Salle.

EMBONS Bonleon will be sidelined for the rest of UAAP Season 79 after re-injuring his left wrist on Wednesday against La Salle.

The University of Santo Tomas stalwart confirmed he will require surgery on his injured hand, which was actually aggravated when it was hit during the game against the Green Archers. Bonleon explained the recovery will take six to eight months.

The sophomore forward said he decided to play this season despite his injury, as he was excited with the prospects of the team with a new coach.

Excited ako kasi may bagong coach.

Bonleon even had a good start for the season in UST’s first game where he scored nine points in 10 minutes against Ateneo.

The former La Salle Greenhills cager averaged 4.5 points and 2.4 rebounds in his rookie year in Season 78 and was expected to be one of the players who will take over the squad after the graduation of Kevin Ferrer, Karim Abdul, and Ed Daquioag.
