DE La Salle is on its way to winning its third UAAP general championship title.

An unofficial tally indicated La Salle's looming conquest of the Season 78 general crown after closest pursuer University of Santo Tomas capped off its UAAP campaign with a loss to University of the Philippines in the men's football semifinal on Thursday.

La Salle, meantime, still has teams in women's volleyball and women's football vying for titles before the close of Season 78.

It will be La Salle's third general championship in the past four years. The Green Archers is set to reclaim the UAAP crown it lost to UST last season.

So far, DLSU has collected five titles in women's beach volleyball, baseball, men's and women's table tennis, and women's chess.

La Salle won its first general title in Season 75 (2012-2013), ending UST's run of 14 consecutive overall championships.
