UNBEATEN La Salle and streaking University of the Philippines collide on Saturday the UAAP Season 79 basketball tournament at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

The Green Archers look to extend their eight-game unbeaten run, while the Fighting Maroons hope to make it three straight, when they face off at 2 p.m.

La Salle coach Aldin Ayo said facing a streaking UP is not easy.

“It will not be easy. The more we win, the harder it gets. All of the teams are capable of an upset game. We are not going to be complacent. We will continue working hard in practice,” said Ayo.

UP coach Bo Perasol said the Fighting Maroons need to play above their capabilities against La Salle.

The Fighting Maroons own a 3-6 win-loss slate.

“We can’t be our regular selves against La Salle. If there is such a thing as an ‘A1 + 1 game, we have to bring it. We have a disadvantage — big man, experience, size, winning attitude, nandoon,” said Perasol.

National University goes up against University of Sto. Tomas at 4 p.m.

The Bulldogs are having a rollercoaster season, and are looking to bounce back after bowing to Far Eastern University, 57-56.

The Tigers, meantime, hope to break a five-game skid.
