Green Archers flex muscles in preseason with emphatic wins over Letran, TUP

DE La Salle began its summer build-up for the UAAP with two lopsided wins on Saturday in two separate tournaments.

The Green Archers defeated Letran, 105-85, at the San Beda gym during their opening game in the Fr. Martin Cup late in the morning before trouncing Technological University of the Philippines, 103-31, in their first game in the Milcu Sports Basketball Summer Showcase later in the afternoon.

Ben Mbala had 22 points while Ricci Rivero added 18 points for the Green Archers during their Fr. Martin Cup match against the Knights, who were outscored 33-19 in the third canto.

Kib Montalbo also had 12 points as incoming rookie Leonard Santillan contributed nine points for La Salle in the Fr. Martin game.

Jerick Balanza finished with 15 points for the Knights in the Fr. Martin Cup match.

Aside from the two preseason tournaments, the Green Archers are also slated to see action in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup.
