LA Salle will not see action in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) next month.

Head coach Louie Gonzalez confirmed the Green Archers are backing out of the tournament featuring eight of the best college teams from across the country.

As runner-up of UAAP Season 80, La Salle was seeded into the PCCL tournament proper.

But with Gonzalez moving up after the transfer of Aldin Ayo to University of Santo Tomas, the Green Archers decided not to join the annual showcase.

“Hindi muna kami sasali sa PCCL. Transition period pa,” said Gonzalez.

In the PCCL Elite Eight are UAAP titlist Ateneo, NCAA champion San Beda and runner-up Lyceum, Cesafi’s University of the Visayas, Holy Trinity College, Naga College Foundation and NCR qualifier San Sebastian.

It is still unknown which team will be tapped to replace La Salle.
