LA Salle coach Aldin Ayo is determined to win back-to-back crowns in the UAAP and training will start as early as January.

The Green Archers have been busy with victory parties and television appearances after ruling the Season 79 basketball tournament, but Ayo is not keen on taking a long break and is eager to round up the squad right after the holidays.

“I told them we are going to resume January,” said Ayo.

The Green Archers will be without Jeron Teng, the team’s top player for five seasons who finished his collegiate career by winning the finals Most Valuable Player award after La Salle swept Ateneo in the finals series.

Also graduating are Thomas Torres, Jason Perkins, and Julian Sargent.

But import Ben Mbala still plans to return and lead the squad.

Ayo is confident they still have the pieces to run the ‘Mayhem’ defense of La Salle.

“Ang hirap humanap ng Jeron Teng, Tommy (Torres), Jason (Perkins), and Jules (Sargent). We are going to miss their leadership. But we are very optimistic for next year. ‘Yung mga rookies, maraming matututunan dito and ‘yung mga recruits namin, for next year, sila ‘yujng kailangan sa materyales ko.

“Mas magiging magulo kami next year,” said Ayo.
