Derrick Pumaren set to resign as UE Red Warriors coach, according to sources
After a promising first season in charge in 2014, with UE posting a 9-5 record, Derrick Pumaren’s Warriors wound up recording a 12-30 win-loss mark in the next three seasons.

DERRICK Pumaren is set to resign as head coach of University of the East, sources told SPIN.ph.

A little over a week after the Red Warriors ended their season with a 3-11 win-loss record, sources said Pumaren has told persons close to the team that he will tender his resignation.

In his final interview of Season 80, Pumaren mentioned about his future with the Red Warriors, hinting that he wants to know the direction of UE in their basketball program before signing an extension.

"I'm still thinking if I'm going to renew for next year. Depende sa direction ng team," said Pumaren, who amassed a 12-30 record in his stint with UE.

Pumaren led La Salle to the UAAP crown in 1989 and 1990 before becoming a PBA coach.
