Dave Ildefonso has decided to move to NU for college basketball.

ANOTHER Ildefonso is joining National University.

Dave Ildefonso has decided to move to the Bulldogs camp for college to join his father Danny and brother Shaun, just days after helping lead the Ateneo Blue Eaglets to the UAAP juniors championship.

The 17-year-old Ildefonso made the announcement on his Twitter account on Friday night, posting a picture of himself wearing an NU Bulldogs shirt.

Ildefonso stands at 6-foot-5 but can play the guard and forward positions. He is regarded as one of the most versatile players coming out of high school, where he won a place in the UAAP Mythical Five alongside Ateneo teammates Kai Sotto and SJ Belangel, MVP CJ Cansino of University of Santo Tomas and L-Jay Gonzales of Far Eastern University.

In his post on Twitter, Ildefonso expressed his gratitude to Ateneo for the five years he spent with the school.

“The past five years have gone by so fast and I am more than grateful for what the Ateneo has given me. They helped a 13-year-old boy find what his passion truly is. I’ve been given opportunities that I never thought would have gotten.

“I want to thank the coaches who believed in me, my friends who I never thought I’d call as one, and my teachers who never gave up on me,” said Ildefonso.

“That foundation will always be a part of who I am and who I will eventually grown into as an athlete and, more importantly, as a person,” he added.

Ildefonso's father Danny is a former Bulldogs star and now part of NU staff as an assistant coach. Older brother Shaun played high school and college ball at Ateneo before moving to NU last year.
