COACH Bo Perasol is pleased with the progress so far, but noted this is no cause for celebration for the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons.

“Unang-una, di pa tapos yung ambisyon natin. Masaya tayo na naabutan na natin yun, pero malayo sa utak natin yung mga nangyari noon,” said Perasol after the Maroons defeated the UE Warriors for their second win in three outings.

“Feeling ko, malayo pa kami dun sa point na talagang gusto kong lumaban — yung point na pagkita mo, alam ko talo ko 'to. Personnel e, laging personnel,” he added noting things are expected to get harder.

With a 2-1 record this season, Perasol improved to 7-10 in his return to UP after a turbulent three-year stay with the Ateneo Blue Eagles.

“At the start, I’ve just always wanted to bring back excitement to the community,” he said.

Now aside from helping bring back excitement, Perasol has turned long-suffering squad into a team to be reckoned with.

Perasol reiterates the target is to make the semifinals, in the coming seasons if not this year.

“I'm happy na naabot na namin yan, but at the same time, we're looking forward na maabot namin yung goal natin na umabot ng Final Four,” Perasol continued.

“Even itong season na 'to. Ilalaban natin. Eventually, matawid din natin sa susunod na generations ng mga players, yun ang importante.”
