BEN Mbala remained hard to please despite another dominant performance in La Salle’s rout of University of the Philippines.

On Saturday, Mbala finished with the season’s top scoring performance, contributing 30 points as well as grabbing 14 rebounds and blocking two shots to give La Salle an 89-71 win over the Maroons.

The Cameroonian sensation was coming off an impressive UAAP debut where he had 13 points and 23 rebounds against Far Eastern University, an effort which didn’t satisfy him enough. Mbala pointed out that he and the rest of the Green Archers still have a lot to work on in the coming games.

“It’s a work in progress,” said Mbala. “I can’t say that I’m satisfied with my game. I’m just happy that we won.

“But like coach said, we still have work to do,” he added, referring to coach Aldin Ayo’s call to limit the team’s errors after La Salle committed 26 turnovers against UP.

The Cameroonian big man also put on a show to remember for La Salle fans, with one memorable highlight slam off a Thomas Torres lob. But once again, Mbala played down his performance.

“I just can’t say to myself that I’m good enough. I always want to improve. I think I can still play better,” said Mbala.
