La Salle main man Ben Mbala the runaway MVP leader despite missing first two games of elims

BEN Mbala is the runaway leader in the Most Valuable Player race in the UAAP Season 80 basketball tournament.

La Salle's Cameroonian reinforcement averaged a league-best 30.4 points, 11.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.0 blocks in five games.

Mbala tallied 98 statistical points at the end of the first round of eliminations despite missing the first two games as he played for the Cameroonian national team in Fiba Afrobasket.

Thirdy Ravena of Ateneo is a far second with 66 SPs, while Papi Sarr of Adamson is in third with 65.1667 SPs, according to to UAAP official statistics provider Imperium Technology.

J-Jay Alejandro of National University is running fourth with 62.7143 SPs.

Alvin Pasaol of University of the East, who scored 49 points against La Salle, is in fifth spot with 61 SPs.

Paul Desiderio of University of the Philippines has 57.1429 SPs followed by Chibueze Ikeh of Ateneo (55.5714), Issa Gaye of NU (53.2857), Aljun Melecio of La Salle (52.5 SPs) and Steve Akomo of University of Santo Tomas (51).
