ATENEO clinched a return trip to the Final Four on Saturday after defeating Adamson, 67-52, on Saturday in the UAAP Season 77 men’s basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Blue Eagles hiked their win-loss mark to 10-3 to claim a berth into the Final Four, behind Far Eastern University (10-2).

Ateneo, who missed the Final Four last year after winning five straight UAAP titles, tangles with FEU next Saturday in a game with Final Four implications.

“I was a bit apprehensive because it is our third game in seven days. Our energy was waning. Thankfully, our defense kicked in the third and early fourth quarter,” said Ateneo coach Bo Perasol.

The Blue Eagles went on a 15-0 run in the fourth quarter to capture the victory.

The Falcons are one defeat away from going winless in Season 77. They will try to break the slump on the final playing date of eliminations on September 16 against University of the Philippines.

Kiefer Ravena finished with 16 points while Chris Newsome had 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Blue Eagles.

Don Trollano was the lone double digit scorer for the Falcons with 20 points.
