ARNOLD Van Opstal and Norbert Torres missed Saturday’s game against Adamson as the two La Salle bigs are nursing injuries.

Coach Juno Sauler said Van Opstal has a knee injury with doctors advising him to rest for one week.

Torres, on the other hand, also rested after suffering an ankle injury in the Archers’ previous game against University of the East.

Both the Archers’ big men status are day-to-day.

Sauler revealed Van Opstal has been playing hurt since the start of Season 77.

“Arnold has been playing hurt even before the start of the season,” he said. “We thought that he can work through it. Apparently, the doctors said he has to have a one-week rest.”

“Day-to-day sila Arnold and Norbert,” Sauler added.

Their absence, however, didn’t affect La Salle as the defending champions defeated Adamson Falcons, 67-48, on Saturday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Thomas Torres is already nursing an ankle injury, although Sauler is confident La Salle’s starting point guard will return this season.
