ARNOLD Van Opstal still needs a little more time before he can return to active duty for De La Salle in the UAAP men’s basketball tournament.

The La Salle big man dressed for the match against Ateneo on Sunday but didn't play in the Archers' 88-86 win - the fourth successive game he has sat out since suffering an Achilles heel injury.

La Salle coach Juno Sauler assured Van Opstal is ready to play, but opted not to field the althetic big man as he awaits to find what his playing form is after the long layoff.

“Arnold practiced just one day. He was out for three weeks,” said Sauler.

Despite Van Opstal’s absence, the Archers still extended their winning streak to six games, allowing the Taft-based school to tie Ateneo and Far Eastern University at the top on 6-2 win-loss cards.

La Salle will face University of the Philippines on August 23 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
