Aldin Ayo ejected, banned for La Salle-Ateneo match for trying to fit referee with eyeglasses
De La Salle coach Aldin Ayo chases a referee who he tried to mockingly fit with eyeglasses after a call that went against the Green Archers in a game against UE on Wednesday.

DE La Salle coach Aldin Ayo was ejected from Wednesday’s match against University of the East after a confrontation with a referee at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Ayo was thrown out late in the second quarter after complaining about a call in a play involving Thomas Torres, who appeared to be shoved out of bounds by UE's Will Bartolome.

The La Salle coach was so furious about the referees' call that he pursued the game official and mockingly tried to fit him with eyeglasses he snatched from Green Archers assistant Siot Tanquingcen.

Ayo’s ejection will mean that the La Salle coach will miss the Green Archers’ next game against Ateneo on Sunday owing to the automatic one-game suspension.

Ayo, who was once thrown out during his time as Letran coach last year when he threw a chair, was supposed to coach his first La Salle-Ateneo UAAP game this coming Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
