ADAMSON secured a berth in the Final Four with a 79-73 win over Ateneo in the UAAP Season 79 juniors basketball at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan on Saturday.

Encho Serrano, Jason Celis, and Rence Padrigao combined for 21 of the Baby Falcons’ 25 points in the first quarter before surviving a big late-game rally by the Blue Eaglets.

Serrano finished with 15 points, while Celis and Padrigao each had 13 markers for the Baby Falcons, who improved to a 9-1 mark to seal their place in the semifinal round.

SJ Belangel had 11 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter as Ateneo outscored Adamson, 26-11, but his efforts fell short as the Baby Falcons held on to the win.

The Blue Eaglets fell to 5-5.

Meanwhile, University of Santo Tomas beat University of the Philippines Integrated School, 91-83, in the last game of the day, giving National University and Far Eastern University-Diliman a spot in the Final Four.

UST, UPIS, and De La Salle-Zobel, which beat University of the East in a Saturday morning game, now share fifth place with 3-7, two games behind fourth-placer Ateneo.
