FIVE-time UAAP women's basketball champion National University has added another weapon in its quest to extend its dynasty.

Gilas Pilipinas Women standout Kelli Hayes will play one year for the Lady Bulldogs this UAAP Season 82, taking advantage of the "Troy Rike rule."

Coach Patrick Aquino confirmed the development, with NU seeking to extend its historic 80-0 streak.

Hayes, 24, has spent four years with the UCLA Bruins and reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament in her junior year.

Hayes no longer has to undergo residency as the rule states: "A student-athlete from a non-member school who is pursuing graduate studies in a member school shall not be subject to residency requirements."

The 6-foot forward averaged 6.2 points on a 37-percent shooting, to go with 2.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 23.5 minutes of action as she started all 35 games in her senior year.

Hayes will be a big addition to NU, which is also set to welcome Canada-born rookie Camille Clarin.

They will join a potent Lady Bulldogs roster which already features Jack Animam, Kaye Pingol, Monique del Carmen and Congolese center Rhena Itesi.
