A POST-GAME handshake between the benches of University of Santo Tomas and National U turned physical after the Growling Tigresses’ 90-66 rout of the Lady Bulldogs in the UAAP Season 89 women’s basketball tournament on Saturday at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
UST assistant coach Arsenio Dysangco fell to the floor after he was apparently hit by the elbow of NU deputy Paul Du during the customary handshake after the final buzzer.

Dysangco received medical assistance before being helped into a wheelchair and brought back to the black-and-gold locker room.
Golden Tigers assistant coach Jude Paulite acknowledged tensions flared, but declined to elaborate on the incident.
“I know there was extra-curricular that happened after game,” he said. "But let’s not take away this game from the players of both teams."

The incident came after defending champion UST extended its unbeaten start to 3-0, handing the Lady Bulldogs their first loss in a rematch of the past three finals.
