SAN Beda stayed undefeated on Friday when the Red Lions defeated San Sebastian, 87-77, in the NCAA Season 92 seniors basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
The Red Lions continued their winning run as they recorded their eighth win in as many games heading to their final match of the first round against Jose Rizal University on Tuesday.
Donald Tankoua finished with 20 points, while Davon Potts scored 13 points for the Red Lions, but coach Jamike Jarin was not pleased with his error-prone team.
“We had 32 turnovers,” said Jarin. “I’m happy that we won, I’m mad that we had 32 turnovers. And they didn’t even press us.”
“We are forcing things and we are playing selfish right now,” he added.
Regille Ilagan had 20 points, while Allyn Bulanadi chipped in 13 points for the Stags, who fell to their eighth straight loss.
Tankoua had eight points in the third as the Red Lions outscored the Stags, 23-15, to enter the fourth with a 68-53 lead.
Dan Sara, still finding his form following an injury during the Fiba Olympic Qualifying Tournament break last month, added seven points, all in the third for San Beda.
