MAPUA got back on track on Friday by beating San Sebastian, 88-75, in the NCAA Season 92 seniors basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
The Cardinals chalked up their fifth win in six outings while atoning for their first defeat of the season at the hands of Arellano last Tuesday.
Allwell Oraeme also had another big outing, finishing with 13 points, 22 rebounds, five assists, and five blocks to lead a balanced Mapua attack.
Exe Biteng had 19 points while Darell Menina finished with 15 points. Andoy Estrella added 14 points and seven assists for the Cardinals, who take on San Beda on Thursday.
“We really needed this win kasi before this, we have four games, San Sebastian, San Beda, Perpetual, and Letran, and para magandang standing namin, we really have to win this game,” said Mapua coach Atoy Co.
The Cardinals played without CJ Isit, who suffered a finger injury. But they opened an early 31-22 and never let the Stags back into the game.
Justine Mercado had 18 points for the Stags, who dropped to 1-4.
