LETRAN scored its second straight win at the expense of San Sebastian, 73-61, in the NCAA Season 92 men's basketball tournament at the Filoil Flyig V Centre on Friday.
Rey Nambatac and JP Calvo joined forces and finished with 16 points apiece for the Knights, who took a 53-39 lead in the third quarter that they never relinquished.
The Knights kept the Stags at arm's length the rest of the way and went on to claim their seventh win in 14 outings.
Felix Apreku and John Quinto also added nine markers each for Letran, which put San Sebastian's four-game winning streak to a screeching halt.
"Long way to go. Kailangan namin muna intindihin mga sarili namin bago yung sa mga nasa taas," said Letran coach Jeff Napa.
"It was a collective effort. Everybody sacrificed hindi lang naman si JP. Yan yung magandang nangyari ngayong game," he added.
The Stags, who fell to a 5-10 card, leaned heavily on Michael Calisaan.
Calisaan raked in 24 points, including eight in the payoff period where the Stags tried to mount a comeback but were fended off by the Knights.
Ryan Costelo contributed 12 points.
