SCOTTIE Thompson notched another triple-double, his seventh in NCAA Season 91, powering Perpetual Help to a rout of Emilio Aguinaldo College, 89-59, on Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan.
Thompson came up with 10 points, 14 rebounds, and 13 assists as the Altas improved their record to 11-4.
The win moved the Altas to a three-way tie for first place with idle Letran Knights, after San Sebastian (5-10) stunned erstwhile solo leader San Beda (11-4) in the second game.
Gerald Dizon topscored for Perpetual Help with 18 points, while Nigerian reinforcement Prince Eze finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks.
The Altas blew past the Generals for good, 25-11, in the third period.
“Akala ko hindi kami makakalayo kasi ganado ’yung EAC eh. Ayaw na namin padikitin kasi mag-iiba ’yung laro,” said Perpetual Help coach Aric del Rosario.
The match was already decided when a commotion occurred, with Nikolo Cabiltes of Perpetual Help and Enjerico Diego and Faustine Pascual of EAC being thrown out of the game in the 1:38 mark of the fourth period.
Christ Mejos had 13 points while Sidney Onwubere grabbed 16 rebounds for the Generals, who dropped to 2-13.
