Michael Calisaan's monster double-double helps Stags end slide at expense of Pirates

    Aug 7, 2015

MICHAEL Calisaan finished with 35 points and 16 rebounds as San Sebastian beat Lyceum, 77-70, on Friday in the NCAA Season 91 seniors basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

Calisaan had 23 points in the first half alone when the Stags, who had lost their five previous games, took control of the game for good by opening a 13-point lead, 48-35, at halftime.

The Stags, under former star Rodney Santos, improved to 2-6 (win-loss) at the expense of former head coach Topex Robinson, who transferred to Lyceum after handling San Sebastian last season.

“Good win para sa amin ‘to dahil sa mga pinagdaanan ng mga bata. Wala namang tutulong sa amin kundi kami rin,” said Santos.

Jon Ortouste had 15 points while Ryan Costelo had 12 points to back up Calisaan. Bradwyn Guinto also grabbed 14 rounds for the Stags.
