SAN Beda kept its bid of a record sixth straight title alive, repulsing Mapua, 78-68, in Game Two of the NCAA juniors’ basketball Finals on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Red Cubs led from start to finish to extend the best-of-three series to a deciding game.
Game Three is on Saturday at 12 p.m. also at the MOA Arena.
Marc Diputado registered 19 points and nine boards, while Joshua Caracut chipped in 16 points and six rebounds, but it was on the defensive end where the Cubs made a bigger mark.
“We just made adjustments defensively,” Cubs coach JB Sison said after his team allowed the Red Robins to score 84 points in their win in the opener.
Sherwin Concpecion tallied a game-high 21 points, but Warren Bonifacio was limited to just three points after going for 18 in the first game for the Robins.
