CAMEROONIAN big man Donald Tankoua has been named Player of the Week by the NCAA Press Corps after leading San Beda to two victories and a share of the early lead with Mapua in Season 92.
"For me he is the best import. Big part of this is because of him. His rebounds and hustle," said San Beda rookie transferee Robert Bolick of Tankoua.
Filling in the void left by Ola Adeogun who has already completed his playing eligibility, Tankoua is doing good for the Red Lions.
In San Beda's 91-76 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College on Tuesday, Tankoua pulled down 17 rebounds.
The Lions routed the St. Benilde Blazers, 90-63, with the 6-foot-5 Tankoua posting a double-double effort of 17 points and 14 rebounds with three blocks.
Tankoua averaged 10.5 points, 15.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game and bested bested Letran's Rey Nambatac, Mapua's CJ Isit and Fil-Am teammate Davon Potts for the weekly award from scribes covering the league.
