NATIONAL University continues to set the bar in women's basketball, this time in the halfcourt game.
That fact was further solidified after day one of the UAAP Season 81 3x3 tournament on Saturday afternoon at Ayala Malls Feliz in Pasig.
The quartet of Jack Animam, Ria Nabalan, Monique del Carmen, and Rhena Itesi showed no mercy against their peers, leading the Lady Bulldogs to a perfect 5-0 record.
NU's first victim was UE, 12-7, before scoring a tight 13-10 win over Ateneo. La Salle was the next to fall at 14-8, before FEU got blanked and was dealt a 12-3 beatdown.
The Lady Bulldogs put the exclamation point to their dominant showing in the first day with a 14-9 victory over UP.
Ateneo is in close second in the women's division with its 3-1 win-loss record, with the Lady Eagles bannered by Katrina Guytingco, Boom Moslares, Zoe Chu, and Lettice Miranda.
Adamson also isn't that far behind, with the Lady Falcons carrying a 2-1 card, behind Kat Araja, Mar Prado, Rose Ann Dampios, and Shellyn Bilbao.
UST and UE are at joint fourth with their 2-2 slates, followed by FEU (1-3), UP (1-4), and La Salle (0-3).
