JOM Sollano had 16 points and nine rebounds as Letran survived a furious rally from the College of Saint Benilde, 56-52, on Friday in the NCAA Season 92 seniors basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Sollano flirted with a double-double to lift the Knights to their second win in three outings, half-a-game behind leaders San Beda, Arellano, and Mapua.

JP Calvo and Bong Quinto had 11 points each for the Knights, who had to survive a late comeback by the Blazers before securing the victory ahead of NCAA's long break for the Fiba Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

“Alam naman namin na babalik ang Benilde. It’s all about us kasi naglaro kami ng third quarter pero bumitaw kami, kinalimutan namin na team kami,” said Letran coach Jeff Napa.

The Knights limited the Blazers to just a point in the first five minutes of the third period but ended it with only an eight-point lead, 43-35.

Letran led, 52-40, but CSB orchestrated an 8-0 run to cut the Knights lead to four, 52-48, but the Blazers couldn’t find the baskets late in the contest with Calvo's lay-up sealing the win.

Clement Leutcheu had 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Blazers as they remained winless in two matches.
