THE NCAA has postponed its scheduled basketball games on Monday due to heavy traffic that is anticipated in some parts of Metro Manila where religious group Iglesia ni Cristo will hold its medical mission.
“We understand the difficulties that our students and athletes may encounter going to the venue,” management committee chairman Dax Castellano of College of St. Benilde said in a statement.
The day’s matchups at The San Juan Arena would have pitted the men’s and juniors’ sides of Emilio Aguinaldo College and Mapua, as well as those of defending champion San Beda and Arellano.
The development thus pushes further the end of the already prolonged cage competition to mid-November.
The country’s oldest collegiate has already postponed some of its games in the past few months due to inclement weather and, more recently, a leaking roof at the venue.
