NCAA holds novelty 'Kiddies Basketball Tournament'

Nov 30, 2014

THE NCAA held a one-of-a-kind kiddies basketball tournament between member schools that opened Sunday at the Mapua gymnasium.

Dubbed ‘NCAA Kiddies Basketball Tournament,’ the event has a 12-under and 14-under competition where kids will have the opportunity to experience being a varsity player of their school at a young age.

The NCAA already has a college and high school division, and the kiddies event being held for the first time by a collegiate league will further enhance the grassroots program of the NCAA schools.

“We want to make the NCAA truly a national league by making it available to the grassroots,” said NCAA Kiddies Basketball chairman Fr. Victor Calvo, OP, a member of the NCAA Management Committee representing Letran.

Marlon Carlos of Emilio Aguinaldo College has been appointed as commissioner of the tournament.

For inquiries on the tournament, contact Michael Inoferio at 09165931357 or 5277693 loc. 311.
