SAN Beda and Letran remained at the top of the team standings, University of Perpetual Help slipped back while Mapua, Arellano, and Jose Rizal University are still clincing to their Final Four hopes.
Nothing was settled after a Friday to remember in the NCAA, but there are biggest winners and losers.
The Red Lions got the ball rolling with a 75-65 win over Mapua to stay in first place, a spot they eventually shared with Letran after the Knights' 87-81 comeback over Arellano in the third game of a tripleheader that attracted a full house at The Arena in San Juan.
In between, the Heavy Bombers stayed in contention for a Final Four spot by defeating the Altas, 62-60.
When the dust cleared after the best attended game day this season, San Beda and Letran shared the first spot with a 12-4 win-loss slate while Perpetual Help fell to third place with an 11-5 mark. Mapua, Arellano, and JRU are tied for fourth place with a 10-6 record.
While no team is yet to be guaranteed a place in the Final Four, Arellano’s route to the playoffs became tougher are set to play San Beda on Thursday.
In contrast, Mapua and JRU will have light opponents in their next two games.
The teams in the Top Three spots also face tough roads as San Beda and Letran still have to face each other on the final day of eliminations on October 6, while Perpetual Help will still take on Letran on October 2.
