MIKE Nzeusseu posted another 20-20 game as Lyceum stretched its streak to three with an 83-79 victory over San Sebastian on Tuesday in the NCAA Season 92 basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
The Cameroonian import had 26 points and 24 rebounds, his second 20-20 in three games, as the Pirates evened their win-loss record to 3-3.
After three straight losses to begin the season, the Pirates got to the .500 mark with the effort of Nzeusseu, Lyceum’s big man who has been a beast on the boards.
“It was also special because I played against my alma mater. Again, credit to the players and the coaching staff that has been doing the work,” said Lyceum coach Topex Robinson.
Wilson Baltazar added 14 points, while Jesper Ayaay and Shaq Alanes had 10 points each for the Pirates.
Ryan Costelo pumped in 23 points for the Stags, who slumped to 1-5.
San Sebastian was able to cut the deficit to two points on a triple by Ian Valdez with 44.5 seconds left but Nzeusseu answered with a putback to settle the final score, 25.9 seconds to play in the match.
