LETRAN coach Aldin Ayo claimed Mark Cruz was showered with invectives by San Beda fans at ringside toward the end of Game Two of the NCAA Finals, the reason the Knights star lost his cool.

The diminutive Knights guard was seen shouting at someone at ringside of the Mall of Asia Arena as the final seconds ticked away in San Beda's 68-61 Game Two win that forced a winner-take-all match on Thursday.

The pro-bound Cruz had to be restrained by teammates and Ayo himself to keep the situation from getting out of hand.

“Minura nung San Beda fan. Fan ng San Beda,” said Ayo, explaining why Cruz lost his cool.

A similar commotion happened in Game One after a fan was nearly attacked by Letran fans in the same area as Tuesday's altercation after he tried to distract Kevin Racal during an inbound play.

Ayo said he needed to control Cruz with Game Three to be played on Thursday.

“Inawat ko kasi ayaw ko magkagulo kasi baka magka-sanction. We still have Game Three,” said Ayo.
