    Mapua tightens hold on third place in NCAA juniors with victory over Perpetual Help

    MAPUA defeated Perpetual Help, 100-76, on Thursday to strengthen hold of third place in the NCAA Season 92 juniors basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

    Clint Escamis and Sherwin Concepcion finished with 15 points each for the Red Robins, who took a 55-30 lead at halftime.

    Will Gozum had a near double-double, tallying 14 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks for Mapua, which improved its record to 6-2.

    The Altalettes skidded to seventh place with a 4-5 slate.

    La Salle Greenhills beat Emilio Aguinaldo College, 87-74, for its fifth win in eight outings.

    Troy Mallinllin had 22 points for the Junior Blazers, who occupy fourth place in the standings.

    EAC went winless in the first round.

    Standings: Arellano 8-0, San Beda 7-1, Mapua 6-2, CSB-LSGH 5-3, LPU 4-4, Letran 4-4, Perpetual Help 4-5, JRU 3-6, San Sebastian 1-7, EAC 0-9.
