MANNY Pacquiao has pledged his full support to Letran’s campaign in the ongoing NCAA Season 91 campaign.
And coach Aldin Ayo hinted the iconic boxing superstar is giving out something to the team of which he is now the official manager.
As to what form it is, Ayo would rather not disclose.
“Meron,” said Ayo, who is in his first year at the helm of Letran, when asked if the 36-year-old Pacquiao had promised anything to the team.
“Pero hindi pa pinapa-disclose.”
Although Pacquiao was not around, the Knights gifted him with a 78-62 win over Jose Rizal University in his first game as team manager. The Heavy Bombers are one of the teams tipped as title contenders this season.
During the postgame interview, Ayo said Pacquiao extended his invitation to host the team in his mansion at Forbes Park, Makati.
“Right after this, we were invited to his mansion. Hindi ko lang alam kung coaching staff o ‘yung team,” said Ayo, whose connection with Pacquiao stems from being one of his deputy coaches at Kia Carnival in the PBA.
Ayo, however, has already stepped down as one of Pacquiao’s assistants to focus on his job with Letran.
The Letran rookie coach said Pacquiao’s support is definitely a big boost to the team.
“Manny Pacquiao ‘yun eh. Pangalan pa lang, motivation na. Malaking bagay sa amin,” said Ayo.
