Lyceum of the Philippines, Emilio Aguinaldo College finally gain regular membership in NCAA

    May 18, 2015

THE NCAA has finally accepted Lyceum and Emilio Aguinaldo College as regular members after a long probationary period.

The country’s oldest collegiate league mande the announcement on Monday during the hosting turnover ceremony from Jose Rizal University to Mapua, promoting the Pirates after three years and the Generals following six years under probation.

“We’d like to welcome our newest members after surviving the process,” said Policy Board president Reynaldo Vea of Mapua.

Both schools did well in Season 90.

EAC finished fourth among 10 teams in both seniors and juniors divisions, highlighted by a championship conquest in men’s volleyball.

Lyceum, on the other hand, finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the general championship race in both divisions, buoyed by a runner-up finish in men’s football.

Not even a brawl involving EAC’s men’s basketball team last September affected the San Marcelino-based school’s promotion to regular status.
